Monday Pujas

In India, Mondays are considered auspicious days for worshiping Lord Shiva, as he is believed to be the ruling deity of this day according to Hindu mythology. There are two main pujas performed on Monday:

1. Shiva Abhishekam: Shiva Abhishekam is a popular ritual performed to offer prayers and devotion to Lord Shiva. It involves bathing the Shiva Linga (an iconic representation of Lord Shiva) with various sacred substances like milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, holy water, and sandalwood paste. Devotees chant mantras and offer flowers, fruits, and Bilva leaves to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings and protection.

2. Rudrabhishekam: Rudrabhishekam is an elaborate puja dedicated to Lord Shiva, where the Rudra aspect of Lord Shiva is worshiped. It involves the recitation of sacred Vedic hymns and the pouring of water, milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, and other sacred substances over the Shiva Linga. The chanting of Rudram, a powerful Vedic hymn dedicated to Lord Shiva, is an integral part of this puja.
