Navratri Puja is a multi-day Hindu festival dedicated to the worship of the goddess Durga. “Navratri” translates to “nine nights” in Sanskrit, and it is observed for nine consecutive nights and ten days.
During Navratri, various forms of the goddess Durga, such as Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri, are worshiped. Each day is dedicated to a specific form of the goddess.
It lasts for nine nights and involves rituals such as setting up a puja area, chanting mantras, fasting and offering prayers and aarti to the goddess. The festival is celebrated to seek blessings for courage, strength, and prosperity from the divine feminine energy.
